Helen Adams Realty Marks Three Years Supporting Local Charlotte Businesses with LoLo

Helen Adams Realty, a Charlotte-based company since 1975, takes pride in being locally owned and operated. Founder Helen Adams was a 6th generation Charlottean and her son Jeff and his children, all of whom are involved in the business, are 7th and 8th generation respectively. These deep roots are part of the reason for the firm’s ongoing commitment to give back to the Charlotte community. 

 

Charlotte’s small business scene is what makes our city so unique, which is why we’re always interested in finding more ways to support local spots around town. This month we’re celebrating three years with LoLo, a company that helps us support local businesses through monthly gifts to our clients, neighbors, and friends. LoLo, Locals Supporting Locals, is dedicated to keeping the local love alive in communities across the country by sourcing gifts from local independent vendors.

 

“I was drawn to Helen Adams Realty not only because of the firm’s deep roots in the area, but especially because of the spirit of service toward the community,” explained Rachel Mangiapane, out of our Lake Norman office. “Especially during these difficult times, we are all asking ourselves how we can individually help our friends, neighbors and local business owners. My hope is that not only will these LoLo gifts be enjoyed as the gift they are intended to be but that I have also helped that business gain a repeat customer!”

 

Each month, through LoLo, our agents and staff send out gifts to locally owned companies in one of our four gift zones. With gift zones around each of our office locations, Central Charlotte; South Charlotte; Lake Norman; Fort Mill, we have the option to easily support a wide range of businesses and invite our clients to patron business in their own backyards. 

 

“I love using the LoLo program as a way to thank my clients for their business and acknowledge other special people in my life,” says Amy Merrigan, of our Fort Mill office. “It brings me so much joy to send these gifts each month and it's an added bonus that I am able to support some of my favorite small businesses as well.”

 

Since starting the program in May 2017, we have generated $34,586 and counting for locally operated businesses in the Charlotte area. Examples of past gifts range from a flight of beer at Sycamore Brewing, an ice cream from Two Scoops Creamery, coffee from Summitt Coffee, and balsamic vinaigrette from The Southern Olive.

 

“When I sent my last gift, I was really excited that it was a Davidson coffee shop, and even better that it was one I haven’t yet visited,” said Mangiapane of the Lake Norman area’s June LoLo gift at Good Drip Coffee. “I can’t believe how many hidden gems there are in this area! Each month we uncover a new one through LoLo, which is awesome!”
